Rules of Court Clerks      Training Schedule

SAVE THE DATE  ~  SEPTEMBER 21-24, 2008 ~ NIAGARA FALLS

This year’s Fall Training for Magistrates and Court Clerks will be held in Niagara Falls.  Check-in for both groups will be on Sunday, September 21 and the activities will begin that evening.  The Court Clerks’ business meeting and election of officers will be held beginning at 8:45 AM on Monday morning, September 22.  Immediately after the meeting our classes will begin.  Information for conference pre-registration and hotel reservations were in the June Docket and I hope you have made your plans to attend.  See the “Conference” link on this Website if you missed the Docket.

Just as our practice has been for the past two years, the Education Committee is again offering the “core” topics twice, once on Monday and again on Tuesday.  Please look at the schedule carefully to plan which classes you want to attend on which day so that you don’t end up missing a topic that you really want to cover.  On Wednesday morning there will be a joint class for all three sections on Credit Cards with a joint Question and Answer (covering any and all questions on any topic) session to follow.

On Tuesday afternoon from 3:30 to 4:30 the Magistrates will have a class on surcharges that any Court Clerk is welcome to attend.  There will also be a Transportation class for the Judges that Court Clerks may attend as well.

The Education Committee puts much thought and planning in putting together topics and schedules that we think will benefit you.  We try very hard to pick topics based on the feedback provided by all of you on your comment forms.  So remember how important those comment forms are.  Don’t just circle numbers, but take a minute to write what you like about the class or what you think can be done better.  If you have suggestions for future topics, we definitely want to hear from you.  Give us your thoughts and ideas; we’re all in this together and we all want to be the best Court Clerks we can – for our municipality, for our Judges and for ourselves.
