New York State Association of Magistrates Court Clerks, Inc.
MEMBERSHIP
If
you are reading this and you are not a member – why not? If you are
a member – how many other Court Clerks have you reached out to and
encouraged to join? If none – why not? There are approximately
2,225 town and village Court Clerks in New York State and to date
only 1,095 have joined. Yes, the economy is bad, money is tight,
but membership in our Association gets you a lot of bang for your
buck. Just $35.00 ($17.50 for retired members) gives a member all
issues of The Docket that are published each year, the
opportunity to run for a position on the Executive Board and the
right to vote for the candidates who are running for the Board. And
as they say on television, “But wait! There’s more!” With
the membership comes participation in a professional statewide
organization that is continuously working with the Office of Justice
Court Support and all the State agencies to improve our educational
programs as well as widening the scope of the training for Court
Clerks to make these training opportunities more accessible in order
to fit into our busy schedules and the town and village budget
lines.
One more word about the advantage of receiving The
Docket. Each issue is filled with information that we need to
know in order to do our jobs. It’s a mini-training site at our
fingertips. The Docket also provides us with advance
information on upcoming training events as well as registration and
reservation information in advance of the event.
